An Aperture Telescopes’ Mirror for IIT Delhi

We are quite thrilled to make an 8-inch mirror for Indian Institute of Delhi. Quite surprisingly the purpose of this mirror is not at all for a telescope, but it will be used for Schlieren Imaging System.

We are quite thrilled to make an 8-inch mirror for Indian Institute of Delhi. Quite surprisingly the purpose of this mirror is not at all for a telescope, but it will be used for Schlieren Imaging System. The demand was for a high strehl ratio and very high micro surface smoothness.

We were able to complete the 8-inch f/3.3 mirror for them quickly. Here in this image are depicted the theoretical Ronchigrams and the corresponding actual Ronchigrams captured, quite a good match. The Foucaultgram shows the surface smoothness.

It is indeed a happy moment to supply a Aperture mirror to IIT Delhi.
